- Shyam Sunder Gupta has been appointed as the Central Railway’s Principal Chief Operations Manager in Pune. Mr. Mukul Jain, who retired on August 31, 2023, was succeeded by him.
- Mr Gupta was Chief Administrative Officer (Systems) for Northern Railway prior to his current position as Principal Chief Operations Manager for Central Railway.
- Mr Gupta, a 1992 batch Indian Railway Traffic Service officer, has vast experience in different elements of railway operations, having worked in various capacities on the Western Railway, South Central Railway, South East Central Railway, and Central Railway.
