- The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has been abuzz with activities, executing a number of projects meant for social empowerment.
- 5,24,852 beneficiaries have been covered and 1222.67 crore spent under the PMS-SC scheme during 2021-22, informed the Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, A. Narayanaswamy to the Rajya Sabha.
- Similarly, 538 projects are presently running in India under National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR).
- Likewise, the NAMASTE scheme intends to eradicate unsafe sewer and septic-tank cleaning practices introduced by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
- The Government of India has also informed the parliament that there is no proposal to convert National Commission for Safai Karamcharis into a statutory body.
- The department is also implementing Centrally Sponsored Scholarship Schemes for Scheduled Caste (SC) students in the entire country, including in the state of Maharashtra.
