The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has been abuzz with activities, executing a number of projects meant for social empowerment.
5,24,852 beneficiaries have been covered and 1222.67 crore spent under the PMS-SC scheme during 2021-22, informed the Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, A. Narayanaswamy to the Rajya Sabha.
Similarly, 538 projects are presently running in India under National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR).
Likewise, the NAMASTE scheme intends to eradicate unsafe sewer and septic-tank cleaning practices introduced by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
The Government of India has also informed the parliament that there is no proposal to convert National Commission for Safai Karamcharis into a statutory body.
The department is also implementing Centrally Sponsored Scholarship Schemes for Scheduled Caste (SC) students in the entire country, including in the state of Maharashtra.
