Indian Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) Has Officially Approved The Indigenous Dhruvastra Missile

  • The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), led by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, has approved proposals worth Rs 45,000 crore for the procurement of various weapons systems and platforms, including the Dhruvastra short-range air-to-surface missile and 12 Su-30 MKI fighter jets, according to a Defense Ministry release.
  • The DAC also approved the procurement of next-generation survey vessels for the Indian Navy.
  • It said a proposal of the Indian Air Force to ensure an avionic upgrade of Dornier aircraft to improve the accuracy and reliability of operations was also given Acceptance of Necessity (AoN).
