Uttar Pradesh bags ‘HUDCO Award’ for ‘Swachh Virasat Abhiyan’

Uttar Pradesh has been selected for the prestigious Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) HUDCO Awards 2022-23 for its ‘Swachh Virasat Abhiyan’.
This award has been given in ‘the Best Practices to Improve the Living Environment 2022-23’ category for cleanliness.
The award and Rs 1 lakh were presented by Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Puri in New Delhi on the 53rd Foundation Day of Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited on April 2023.
Under the direction of UP’s Urban Development Minister AK Sharma, a campaign was launched to make the cities of the state ‘Good to Great’.
75 tourist and historical places of the state were included in this program. A special cleanliness drive was conducted at all places.
Entries were received from across the country for this prestigious award. After several rounds of trials, the jury board selected the campaign ‘Swachh Virasat’.
