The Indian Army has launched Operation Sadbhavana in Ladakh with the aim of supporting children in remote areas of Ladakh.
"To improve the standard of education and to provide them with quality education, the army is currently running seven Army Goodwill Schools [AGS]," it said in a statement.
More than 2,000 students are studying in such schools.
A total of Rs 8.82 crore has been earmarked for Ladakh, and the funds are being used for human resources, skill development, sports, healthcare, and education, among others.
Indian Army is presently running seven (07) Army Goodwill Schools (AGS) under this operation in Ladakh Region.
17 Infrastructure projects have been allotted and planned in all districts of UT of Ladakh in the financial year 2022-23.
Establishment of a computer lab; construction of Captain Manoj Pandey PVC Stadium/Sports Complex; construction of community halls etc. are also included.
