- The 53rd meeting of the World Economic Forum began on 16 January 2023 in Davos, Switzerland. This meeting will continue till the 20th of this month.
- The theme of this year’s meeting is “Cooperation in a Fractured World”. Academicians, investors, political and business leaders, and other experts will participate in the meeting and deliberate on the challenges facing the world.
- It will be attended by more than 2,700 leaders from 130 countries. Issues like the Russia-Ukraine crisis, global inflation, and climate change and their solutions will be discussed in the meeting. The current global economic situation will also be considered.
- The theme of this year’s meet is ‘Cooperation in a fragmented world’. Besides this raging issues like the Russia-Ukraine war, global recession, climate change, and spike in the cost of living are among the key issues to be discussed.
- World leaders attending the meeting include President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola, Heads of Government, and other leaders who also attended.
