- With the aim of ensuring 100 percent enrollments in primary and upper primary schools under Uttar Pradesh Basic Shiksha Parishad, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched “School Chalo Abhiyan” from April 1, 2023.
- The event will take place at Lok Bhawan and will be broadcast live. The state government runs the campaign every year, it added.In April last year, the CM had started this campaign from the aspirational district Shravasti.

- As part of the drive, the Yogi government will make an effort during this session to enrol again those children who have dropped out of schools.

- Director General of School Education, Uttar Pradesh, Vijay Kiran Anand said, “Uttar Pradesh has been at the forefront of enrolling the maximum number of students in government schools.
- We have identified 4 lakh children. A lot of work has been done on home visits and tracking of boys and girls working in household industries.
- Their parents will also be informed about the ₹1200 to be received through DBT for purchasing uniforms, shoes, socks and stationery.
- In addition, schools and students with very low attendance rates will also be targeted. Along with this, meritorious boys and girls will be encouraged by setting up ‘Shiksha Chaupal’ in the villages. A meeting of parent-teacher and school management committee will also be organized.
