According to officials, IRS officer Rahul Navin was appointed as the in-charge director of the Enforcement Directorate at the expiration of the tenure of the incumbent, Sanjay Kumar Mishra.
According to an official order, Mr Navin, a 1993-batch IRS officer, will maintain the charge until a regular director is appointed or until additional orders are issued.
Mr Navin is the ED's special director at the moment.
The Supreme Court granted ED chief Mishra an extension of his tenure until September 15, but made it clear that no more extensions will be given.
