- The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has announced the appointment of actor R Madhavan as the president of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Society, as well as the chairperson of its governing council.
- This decision follows the completion of the tenure of the previous president, director Shekhar Kapur, which concluded on 3 March 2023.
- Notably, R Madhavan has recently been in the limelight for his directorial debut, “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect,” which garnered the prestigious National Award for Best Feature Film at the 69th National Film Awards in 2023.
