The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has announced the appointment of actor R Madhavan as the president of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Society, as well as the chairperson of its governing council.
This decision follows the completion of the tenure of the previous president, director Shekhar Kapur, which concluded on 3 March 2023.
Notably, R Madhavan has recently been in the limelight for his directorial debut, "Rocketry: The Nambi Effect," which garnered the prestigious National Award for Best Feature Film at the 69th National Film Awards in 2023.
