- Petra Kvitova of Bilovec, Czechia and Daniil Medvedev of Moscow, Russia are the women’s singles and men’s singles tennis champions of 2023.
- Kvitova defeated Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan 7-6, 6-2 in the women’s final, and Medvedev defeated Italy’s Jannik Sinner 7-5, 6-3 in the men’s final.
- Kvitova, the 15th seed, did not face a higher ranked opponent in the tournament until she faced Rybakina, the 10th seed, in the final.
- In Saturday’s final, Kvitova had the more accurate serve, as she had zero double faults, while Rybakina had three.
- Kvitova, who won Wimbledon in 2011, and 2014, also had eight break point opportunities, of which she broke Rybakina thrice, and won a thrilling first set tiebreak, which she came through by a score of 16-14.
- This was Kvitova’s 30th WTA title, including her 13th title at the Premier 5/WTA 1000 level.

- Russian tennis star Daniil Medvedev won his fourth title of the year at the Miami Open 2023 by defeating Jannik Sinner in a closely fought final match.
- The win marked her first title win at the Miami Open.
- Medvedev defeated Sinner to win his fifth Masters 1000 title and 19th overall, also his first Masters 1000 title since winning in Toronto in 2021.
