  • Joe Root, the former England captain, has entered an exclusive club after reaching a significant milestone in Test cricket.
  • He claimed the wicket of Faheem Ashram during the first session of day four of the second Test between England and Pakistan, effectively claiming his 50th Test wicket.
  • With his last wicket, the 31-year-old became only the third player in Test cricket history to have scored 10,000 runs and taken 50 wickets. Jacques Kallis and Steve Waugh were the only other players to have accomplished this feat before Root.
  • Root has scored 10,629 runs in 126 Tests at an average of almost 50. During this, he has scored 28 centuries and 55 half-centuries. He is the second-highest run-scorer for England.
