- The Indian Navy and the State Bank of India have launched the ‘Nav-eCash’ card, a one-of-a-kind e-cash card that can be used both online and offline.
- Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar said during the inauguration of the Nav-eCash card, “India is leading the world with over 100 billion digital financial transactions being recorded annually and the number is steadily growing.”
- This is a huge step forward as India strives towards ultimate self-sufficiency and digital transformation. The SBI Nav-eCash card will be used throughout the Navy.
- Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar also announced the Indian Navy’s decision to become entirely Aatmanirbhar by 2047.
