  • Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) has handed over Imphal (Yard 12706), the third of the 15B Class stealth-guided missile destroyers, to the Indian Navy.
  • Notably, Imphal is the first naval warship to feature dedicated accommodations for women officers and sailors.
  • The lead ship of the P15B class, INS Visakhapatnam, was commissioned on November 21, 2021, followed by the commissioning of the second ship, INS Mormugao, on December 18, 2022.
  • With the delivery of Imphal, the construction of the fourth ship, Surat, is also approaching completion.
