- The MCC has named 19 new Honorary Life Members, with eight Test-playing nations represented.
- The London-based club, which established the rules of the game, bestows honorary life membership on some of the game’s greatest men and women.
- MCC CEO Guy Levander gave this membership to a total of 19 cricketers keeping in mind their contribution to international cricket.
- South Africa’s Dale Steyn, England’s Kevin Pietersen, Eoin Morgan, Pakistan’s Mohammad Hafeez, Bangladesh’s Mashrafe Mortaza and New Zealand’s Ross Taylor are among those who got this membership.
- The club’s cricket committee regards the nomination of players for life membership as recognition of ‘outstanding international careers for some of the game’s greats’.
- This membership is also given to individuals who have made an extraordinary contribution to the club or sport.
