‘Football4Schools’ initiative launched in India in association with FIFA & AIFF

  • On behalf of FIFA, President Gianni Infantino has co-signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship of the Republic of India, and the All India Football Federation (AIFF) to launch Football for Schools across India, with the goal of reaching 25 million schoolchildren throughout the country.
  • The objective of this initiative is to encourage youth towards sports through football games in the country. Its objective is to create a strong and stable sports infrastructure in the country.
  • Also to achieve the sports goals announced in the new education policy 2020.
  • With such initiatives FIFA plans to reach around 700 million children worldwide in collaboration with football boards of various countries in which the target is to reach 25 million children in India.
  • At the same time, FIFA also wants to achieve the goal of global expansion of football with its help. This is a good initiative which has a long way to go.
