- Unicef India appointed Bollywood starAyushmann Khurrana as its National Ambassador.
- The film star who has bagged a National Award shared the stage with seven children who are representatives of the Butterfly NGO and are doing exceptional work at the grassroots level to further access to education, and awareness on child rights and various social issues such as gender equality and menstruation.
- The National Award-winning film star spoke about the survival, and fruitfulness of every child. He has joined hands with UNICEF to ensure rights flourish and be protected as well as promote voice and agency in decisions related to Children.
- Ayushmann was appointed Celebrity Advocate of UNICEF India in September 2020 to advocate for ending violence against children and a broader child rights agenda.
- As a UNICEF Celebrity Advocate, Ayushmann has over the past two years interacted with children and spoken on internet safety, cyberbullying, mental health, and gender equality and helped grow and drive the work of protecting children’s rights.
- Apart from this, on World Children’s Day, International Women’s Day, International Girl’s Day, World Day against Child Labor, and Safe Internet Day, he has contributed significantly to awareness among children.
