Atul Chaturvedi of India has been elected as the President of Asia Palm Oil Alliance (APOA) on September 21, 2022.
He is the first president of this global organization. Atul Chaturvedi is the Director of Adani Wilmar Limited and the President of Solvent Extractors Association (SEA) of India.
India is the largest importer of palm oil in the Asian region and accounts for 15% of global imports.
Followed by, China, Pakistan and Bangladesh account for 9 per cent, 4 per cent, and 2 per cent of global imports respectively.
The next meeting of APOA may be held in Indonesia early next year.
