The Union Health Ministry has launched a bold initiative to screen and provide standard care to 75 million individuals suffering from hypertension and diabetes by 2025.
This significant announcement was made during the G20 co-branded event called “Accelerating the Prevention and Management of Hypertension and Diabetes,” which was organized by the Union Health Ministry and the World Health Organization (WHO).

Under this plan, 75 million people with hypertension and diabetes will be placed on standard care by 2025 through primary health centres.
40,000 primary health care medical officers will be trained on standard treatment workflow for NCDs to realize health services closer to the community through an empowered portal.
