Lovlina Borgohain and Nikhat Zareen have won Gold medals at Women’s National Boxing Championship 2022 in Bhopal

  • Tokyo Olympics bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain and world champion Nikhat Zareen registered contrasting victories to win the gold medals in their respective weight categories at the Women’s National Boxing Championships 2022.
  • While Assam’s Lovlina Borgohain beat Arundhati Choudhary of Services 5-0 in the 75kg final, Nikhat Zareen faced a stiff challenge from Railways’ Anamika in the 50kg gold medal match before winning 4-1. Nikhat Zareen had won the 52kg division in the last edition of the nationals.
  • Haryana’s Manisha (57kg) and Sweety Boora (81kg), Railway Sports Promotion Board’s (SSCB) Sakshi (52kg), Madhya Pradesh’s Manju Bamboria (66kg) also clinched gold medals in their respective categories in the tournament.
  • Information and Broadcasting, Youth Affairs, and Sports Minister Anurag Thakur gave away awards to the winners.

  • 48kg: Manju Rani (gold), S Kalaivani (silver), Anjali Sharma and Rajni Singh (bronze)
  • 50kg: Nikhat Zareen (gold), Anamika (silver), Kalpana and Shvinder Kaur (bronze)
  • 52kg: Sakshi (gold), Jyoti (silver), Radha Patidar and Sonia (bronze)
  • 54kg: Shiksha (gold), Sunita (silver), Divya Pawar and M Dhiva (bronze)
  • 57kg: Manisha (gold), Vinakshi (silver), Sonia Lather and Purnima Rajput (bronze)
  • 60kg: Poonam (gold), Simranjit Kaur (silver), Preeti and Kros H (bronze)
  • 63kg: Shashi Chopra (gold), Mahi Lamba (silver), Neema and Rinky Sharma (bronze)
  • 66kg: Manju Bamboria (gold),  Ankushita Boro (silver), Parveen and Komalpreet Kaur (bronze)
  • 70kg: Sanamacha Chanu (gold),  Shruti Yadav (silver), Lalita and Jyoti (bronze)
  • 75kg: Lovlina Borgohain (gold), Arundhati Chaudhary (silver), Jigyasa Rajput and Bhawna (bronze)
  • 81kg: Saweety Boora (gold), Anupama (silver), Sushma and M Sribhavana (bronze)
  • 81kg+: Nupur (gold), Monika (silver), Lipakshi and Neha (bronze)
