  • Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stone of 450 crore rupees IFFCO Nano urea liquid fertilizer plant in Jasidih at Deoghar district of Jharkhand.
  • This is the fifth fertilizer unit of IFFCO. The fertilizer plant will produce six crore nano urea bottles annually and supply fertilizers to farmers of Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, and Odisha.
  • Fertilizers will be supplied to the farmers of Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, and Odisha from this plant. Several Urea factories were revived by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi which will help in reducing imports and making India self-reliant.
  • It is indigenous urea, which was first introduced by the Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) to farmers across the world.
  • The Prime Minister has inaugurated the first Liquid Nano Urea (LNU) plant at Kalol in Gujarat.
