  • Senior BJP leader, Dr. Manik Saha was sworn-in as the new Chief Minister of Tripura.
  • Dr. Saha who was administered the oath of office by Governor Satyadeo Narayan Arya in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a grand ceremony in Swami Vivekananda Ground in Agartala took oath as CM for the second consecutive time.
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP national president J.P. Nadda and a host of central leaders will attend the swearing-in ceremony to be held at the Vivekananda Stadium on March 8, 2023, officials and BJP leaders confirmed.
  • The Prime Minister had attended the swearing-in ceremony of the first BJP-led government in 2018.
  • In the recently held elections, the BJP won 32 seats in the 60-member assembly, while its ally, the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT), won one seat.
