Dharmendra Pradhan Inaugurates India’s Second National Model Vedic School In Puri, Odisha

  • Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on October 04, 2022 inaugurated the country’s second Rashtriya Adarsh Veda Vidyalaya (RAVV) in Puri, with the objective of spreading knowledge of the Vedas among people.
  • The RAVV or the National Model Vedic School has come up on the campus of the Central Sanskrit University here. Maharishi Sandipani Rashtriya Ved Vidya Pratishthan is the first such school in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain.
  • The University Grants Commission (UGC) has statutorily included Hindu Studies in the post-graduation curriculum.
  • “On the basis of the National Education Policy (NEP), arrangements have been made to start a PG course in Hindu Studies at Shree Sadashiv Campus from this year. Not only in the state or the country, it will be the central point of attraction at the international level“.
  • The school has been constructed on the premises of Central Sanskrit University, Shree Sadashiv Campus here. The Vedic School will provide education on Vedas, Vedic Mathematics, Sanskrit, Yoga, Hindu philosophy, and others to the students free of cost.
