- The Indian Army has launched Operation Sadbhavana in Ladakh with the aim of supporting children in remote areas of Ladakh.
- “To improve the standard of education and to provide them with quality education, the army is currently running seven Army Goodwill Schools [AGS],” it said in a statement.
- More than 2,000 students are studying in such schools.
- A total of Rs 8.82 crore has been earmarked for Ladakh, and the funds are being used for human resources, skill development, sports, healthcare, and education, among others.
- Indian Army is presently running seven (07) Army Goodwill Schools (AGS) under this operation in Ladakh Region.
- 17 Infrastructure projects have been allotted and planned in all districts of UT of Ladakh in the financial year 2022-23.
- Establishment of a computer lab; construction of Captain Manoj Pandey PVC Stadium/Sports Complex; construction of community halls etc. are also included.
