- Indian Railways’ Neral-Matheran Toy Train has resumed services with the addition of Vistadome Coach for the passengers to experience the grandeur of travelling and meandering through the stunning landscapes of Western Ghats.
- The services resumed after unprecedented rainfall and damages at more than 20 locations on Neral-Matheran section in the year 2019, Central Railway have undertaken several infrastructural works to improve the track and ride in the section.
- Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav recently shared the news in a post alongside a stunning scenic image of the heritage toy train.
- The caption read, ‘Heritage Neral- Matheran toy train whistles again! Vistadome coach, Gabion protection, Grouting of stone pitching beneath the track.’
- The toy train will now have a Vistadome coach that features a glass ceiling and large windows.
- This coach will have a 360-degree view of the route, gabion protection and grouting of stone pitching beneath the track as part of the new and updated infrastructure.
- Calling it a visual delight for passengers, the Ministry of Railways also shared a video of the newly updated toy train.
