HPSSC Assistant Mining Inspector Exam Syllabus

The selection process for the Assistant Mining Inspector Class-III posts as outlined in the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) advertisement consists of a Screening Test and Document Verification:

Screening Test (Stage 1):

Paper-I: A Computer Based Test (CBT) or Offline Screening Test lasting one hour with 50 questions totaling 100 marks. It includes:

  • General knowledge of Himachal Pradesh (30 marks)
  • General knowledge of National and International Affairs (30 marks)
  • Knowledge of Hindi language (20 marks)
  • Knowledge of English language (20 marks)

This is a qualifying paper, requiring at least 35% pass marks.

Paper-II (Subject Aptitude Test – SAT): An objective-type test of two hours duration, carrying 100 marks. The syllabus is set by the Commission. This paper is vital for forming the merit list.

Document Verification (Stage 2):

Candidates are selected for this stage based on their performance in Paper II.

The ratio for category-wise consideration is 1:2+2 for 1 to 5 posts and 1:2 for 6 or more posts.

Additional Points:

  • In bilingual question papers, the English version is considered final for discrepancies.
  • The final merit list is based on Paper-II scores, with tie-breakers being higher marks in Paper-I, older age, or higher marks in essential qualifications.
  • There is a negative marking for incorrect answers in both the CBT and offline tests.
  • The answer key will be available online for objections, with a fee for each objected question
