Saurashtra Tamil Sangam is to be held between17th to 26th of April at Somnath

  • The Saurashtra Tamil Sangam will be held from the 17th to 26th of April at Somnath, Dwarka, and other places in Gujarat to connect Tamil Nadu and Saurashtra, an announcement was made by Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya at a function in Chennai.
  • Union Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying L. Murugan, Gujarat ministers Kunvarji Bavaliya, Jagdish Vishwakarma, BJP State president Annamalai, and others were also present.
  • Shri Mandaviya also launched a website for registration in Saurashtra Tamil Sangam. He said that Sangam will showcase the historical link between Somnath and Rameshwaram.
  • There are about 21 lakh Saurashtrians living in the state of Tamil Nadu and this festival will pave the way to connect the state with Gujarat.
