- On November 2, 2022, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched ‘Ladli Laxmi Yojana 2.0’ by transferring an amount of Rs 1 crore 85 lakh for higher education to 1477 Ladli Laxmi daughters from Ravindra Bhawan Bhopal.
- Chouhan had launched the ‘Ladli Laxmi’ scheme in 2007, after he became the chief minister for the first time in 2005. The scheme provides monetary benefits to the eligible girl children to ensure they get good education and change the perspective of the society towards the birth of the girl child.
- “During my public addresses earlier, I once raised a slogan ‘Beti hai to kal hai’ (there is no future without daughters), following which an old woman pointed at me and asked whether I will be able to make arrangements for the marriage of girls.
- Additional Chief Secretary of Women and Child Development Ashok Shah said that under the Ladli Laxmi Yojana, financial assistance of Rs 25,000 will be given to the daughter after going to college after passing class 12th, which will help her in educating and choosing a career.
- Apart from this, the Chief Minister also inaugurated ‘Ladli Laxmi Vatika’ developed behind Tatya Tope Nagar Stadium in Bhopal. The Chief Minister said that the State Government has decided to develop ‘Ek Park Ladli Laxmi Beti Ke Naam’ in every district.
