- Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced the implementation of the Laadli Bahna Yojana on the occasion of Narmada Jayanti.
- Through this scheme, ₹ 1000 per month will be given to the sisters of poor and middle-class families of Madhya Pradesh.
- The scheme will be available for poor and lower-middle-class women of the state, without any discrimination of caste or category.
- The scheme aims to provide financial support to sisters, regardless of their class, backward class, scheduled caste, or tribal group.
- The funds will be deposited monthly into the recipients’ accounts, allowing them to achieve financial independence.
- The estimated cost of the scheme in five years is approximately Rs. 60,000 crores.
- The state had previously implemented the successful Ladli Laxmi Yojna and Ladli Laxmi Yojna 2, and now the Ladli Bahna Yojana aims to empower the state’s underprivileged women.
