- Chhattisgarh became the overall champion for the 11th time in the 26th All India Forest Sports Competition held in Panchkula, Haryana on March 14, 2023.
- In the 26th All India Forest Sports Competition, Chhattisgarh again retained its first position by winning a total of 164 medals, beating its nearest rival Karnataka.
- It is worth noting that in this fiveday event, indoor games like tennis, table tennis, badminton, swimming, carrom, chase, weight lifting, power lifting, kabaddi as well as various matches of cricket, football, basketball, hockey, golf take place.
- In this competition, the highest officers of the Forest Department participate in sports events from PCCF to guard.
- Chhattisgarh’s Forest Department team defeated Jammu and Kashmir in cricket and won gold medal for the seventh time.
- Similarly, in football, Chhattisgarh got the first position by defeating the Haryana team. Many national players were included in the Haryana team.
- The basketball team of Chhattisgarh won the gold medal by defeating the Karnataka team. Total 19 Gold in Weightlifting Powerlifting, 12 Gold in Tennis, 04 Gold in Badminton, 06 Gold in Swimming, 18 Gold, 10 Silver, 08 Bronze in Athletics.
- Similarly, 09 gold and 02 silver medals have been obtained in tennis. In this way, in this year’s 26th All India Forest Sports Competition, Chhattisgarh won a total of 164 medals, scored a total of 542 points and again retained its first position, beating its nearest rival Karnataka in tough competition.
